Based on current listings checked October 2026. Your exact price depends on model, size and part number.
Most PGS replacement parts cost about $25 to $375. A Legacy series burner runs about $145, a main burner valve about $50 to $75, igniter electrodes about $25 to $40, and a Legacy cooking grid about $375.
Price insights
- Legacy stainless burner (Newport, Pacifica, Big Sur): about $145
- A-series / K-series burner assembly: $98 to $115
- Legacy main burner valve: $49 to $75
- Legacy side and rear burner valve: about $73
PGS grills come in two very different families, and that split drives most of what you will pay. The Legacy series (Newport 30 inch, Pacifica 39 inch and Big Sur 48 inch) are stainless built-in and pedestal grills. The A-series and older K-series are cast aluminum grills, often on posts or carts, and you see a lot of them at clubs, parks and apartment complexes. A-series parts tend to be cheap. Legacy parts run in the normal range for a stainless built-in, with a couple of expensive surprises.

What drives the price of PGS parts
- Which family. A cast aluminum A40 knob is about $5. A Legacy knob is about $38.
- The part. Electrodes and modules are inexpensive. Legacy cooking grids and rotisserie kits are not.
- Fuel type. Valves and regulators come in natural gas and propane versions, and the A-series valves come set for one or the other.
- Year. Some Legacy parts changed after 2008, and the current Legacy knob, for example, will not fit 2008 and older grills.
- Availability. Many common PGS parts are stocked, but less common pieces like castings, warming racks and some A-series burners are special order.

Part-by-part breakdown
Burners
PGS made life easy here. One stainless burner fits all Legacy grills (Newport, Pacifica and Big Sur) and costs about $145. The A-series and K-series burner assemblies run about $98 to $115 depending on the 30 or 40 size. For comparison with other brands, see our grill burner cost guide.
Valves and regulators
Legacy main burner valves run about $49 to $75, with natural gas and propane versions. The valve for the side burner and rear rotisserie burner is a separate part at about $73. A-series and K-series valve assemblies run about $78 to $100. Regulators run about $88 for the propane hose and regulator and about $110 for the natural gas regulator. These are gas safety parts. Buy OEM and match the fuel type. More in our valve price guide and regulator and hose costs.
Ignition
PGS ignition parts are some of the cheapest in this guide:
- Igniter electrodes with 14, 25 or 34 inch leads: about $25 to $29
- Rear burner electrode (S27R, S36R): about $39
- 3 spark ignition module: about $59
- 4 spark ignition module: about $49
- K30/K40 igniter module: about $35
- K40 collector box and electrode: about $31 to $35
The electrode lead length matters. Measure the old wire or note which burner it serves before ordering. See our ignition parts guide.
Cooking grids
This is where Legacy owners get sticker shock. The heavy stainless cooking grid for 30 inch Legacy grills runs about $375 each, and the grill takes two. On the A40 and K40, a stainless grate runs about $112, and a porcelain grid that fits some PGS models is about $64. Compare in our cooking grate cost guide.
Knobs
Legacy control knobs run about $38 and fit S27, S27R, S36 and S36R grills made after 2008. A-series aluminum knobs for the A30, A40, T30 and T40 run about $5. More in our knob price guide.
Rotisserie and other parts
The Legacy Pacifica rotisserie kit with light runs about $650 and can take 6 to 8 weeks to arrive. Warming racks for the A-series are about $43. Ceramic rock for older PGS grills is about $127 and usually special order. A lower casting for an A-series grill is about $535, which is a lot to put into an older aluminum grill. Our rotisserie parts guide and repair or replace guide can help you decide.
OEM vs aftermarket
There is little true aftermarket support for PGS. Some universal porcelain grids and ceramic rock will fit A-series grills, and a universal electrode can sometimes be made to work, but burners, valves and Legacy grids are factory parts. For valves, regulators and anything else carrying gas, buy OEM even if a cheaper part looks the same. PGS valves are set for a specific fuel and orifice size.
How to find your model and serial number
Get the model and serial number before you order. On Legacy grills the model starts with S27 for the Newport or S36 for the Pacifica, followed by R if the grill has a rear rotisserie burner and NG or LP for the fuel. A-series grills carry model numbers like A30 or A40. Look for the rating label on the grill body, inside the cart or pedestal, or on the underside of the grill head, and check your owner's manual if it has worn off. Send a photo of the label and of the old part when you order.
DIY vs hiring a pro
Knobs, grids, electrodes and modules are simple owner swaps. A Legacy burner swap is not hard. Valves, regulators and anything that involves loosening gas fittings need a leak test afterward, and on commercial A-series grills a property manager will usually want a licensed tech. Labor depends on how the grill is mounted, the condition of the hardware, and whether parts are in stock.
Most companies in our network are dealers or have dealer accounts, so they can usually order the right PGS part and install it on the same visit. Browse grill repair services, or find a grill tech by ZIP. For properties with several grills, a grill safety inspection is a cheap way to find problems before a tenant does.

Frequently asked questions
How much is a PGS Legacy burner?
About $145. The same stainless burner fits the Legacy Newport, Pacifica and Big Sur grills.
Why are PGS Legacy cooking grids so expensive?
They are heavy stainless grids made only for these grills. The 30 inch grid runs about $375 each and the grill uses two.
What is the difference between PGS Legacy and A-series parts?
Legacy grills are stainless built-in or pedestal grills. A-series and K-series grills are cast aluminum. Very few parts interchange between the two.
Why won't my PGS grill light?
Check the battery in the spark module, then the electrode tip and wire. Electrodes run about $25 to $39 and modules about $35 to $59.
Will a new Legacy knob fit my older PGS grill?
The current Legacy knob does not fit 2008 and older grills, so check the year before ordering.
