Based on current listings checked October 2026. Your exact price depends on model, size and part number.
Published prices for American Muscle Grill parts are few: a control knob runs about $28, a main burner valve about $51 to $62, and the drop-in infrared sear burner about $390 to $450. Burners, grates and fuel trays are usually dealer quoted, and many are covered by the lifetime warranty.
Price insights
- Main burner valve (MV-AMG): about $62
- Main burner valve, older Dragon style (AMG-VLV): about $51
- Control knob: about $28
- Drop-in infrared sear burner (IRB-AMG): $390 to $450
The American Muscle Grill started as Summerset's top-end grill and now sits under American Made Grills, Summerset's premium sister brand, built in Huntington Beach, California. Older grills carry model numbers like AMG36 and AMG54. Newer ones use MUS36, MUS54 and MUSFS for the freestanding versions. It is a hybrid grill: stainless tube burners down low, and 12 gauge stainless fuel trays above them that hold charcoal or wood, or simply act as heat diffusers when you cook on gas alone.
Here is the plain truth about pricing. Very few American Muscle Grill parts have published prices. Knobs, valves and the infrared sear burner show up at dealers. Most of the rest, including the main burners, the heavy V-grates and the fuel trays, are ordered through a dealer or the factory and quoted case by case. The good news is that a lot of those parts are covered by a lifetime warranty, so the first call is often a warranty claim, not a purchase.

What drives the cost of American Muscle Grill parts
- Warranty coverage. The lifetime warranty covers burners, cooking grates, valves, burner covers, fuel trays and the firebox. Electrical parts and everything else get one year. Have your proof of purchase handy.
- Generation. Early Summerset-branded grills and current American Made Grills units do not share every part. The main valve alone has two versions.
- Low volume. This is an expensive, small production grill. Parts are not stocked on every dealer's shelf, and lead times can run a few weeks.
- No aftermarket. Nobody makes copies of these burners, grates or trays. Every part is factory.

Part-by-part breakdown
Valves and ignition
The current main burner valve runs about $62 and the older Dragon style valve about $51. Ignition on this grill is built around the valve, with a flame-thrower style igniter that shoots a flame to the burner, so a burner that will not light can point to the valve assembly, not just a loose wire. Some grills also run lights and ignition off a 110V outlet, so check the GFCI before anything else. Valves are gas safety parts. Buy factory valves only, and remember valves are on the lifetime warranty list. Our grill valve cost guide and ignition parts guide have more background.
Burners
The main burners are 14 gauge stainless tubes rated at 22,000 BTU each, with five on the 36 inch grill and eight on the 54 inch. We could not find a published price for a replacement tube burner. Expect a dealer quote, and ask about warranty first, since burners are covered for life. The optional infrared sear burner drops into four of the five burner spots on the 36 inch grill and runs about $390 to $450. It is the same sear burner used in the Encore. See burner costs across brands and infrared sear burner prices.
Grates and fuel trays
The reversible V-grates are 9 gauge stainless bars and they are heavy. The fuel trays are 12 gauge stainless. Both are dealer quoted and both fall under the lifetime warranty, so damage from normal use is worth a claim. The lifting tool used to raise the front grate and reach the fuel trays has listed for about $90, though it is discontinued at some dealers. If you burn a lot of charcoal or wood, clean ash out of the trays and the drip pan often. Ash holds moisture and that is what eats stainless over time. Compare with other brands in our cooking grate price guide.
Knobs and trim
Control knobs run about $28 each. If yours have faded in the sun, order a full set so they match. More in our grill knob guide.
Add-on units
The matching Muscle power burner is a complete unit at about $1,795 to $2,495, and the insulated liner for installing it in a combustible island runs about $555. These are not repair parts, but they come up when someone is rebuilding an outdoor kitchen around an existing grill.
OEM vs aftermarket
There is no real aftermarket for American Muscle Grill. Universal rotisserie motors and generic thermometers might work in a pinch, but burners, grates, fuel trays and valves are factory only. For anything that carries gas, buy OEM and leak test after installing.
How to find your model and serial number
Find the model and serial number before you call anyone. Look for the rating label on the grill body, and if it is hard to find, check your owner's manual, warranty registration or original invoice. The model tells you whether you have an early AMG series grill or a current MUS series grill, which matters for valves and some trim. The serial and your purchase date decide warranty coverage. A photo of the label and the part you need saves a lot of time.
DIY vs hiring a pro
Knobs, the sear burner and fuel tray cleaning are reasonable owner jobs. Burner and valve replacement involve gas fittings and a leak test, and the grill is heavy and built in, so access can be tight. Labor depends on how the grill is installed, the condition of the hardware and whether parts have to be ordered. On this grill, a tech who handles the warranty paperwork can save you real money.
Most companies in our network are dealers or have dealer accounts, so they can usually order the right American Muscle Grill part, file the warranty claim if it applies, and install it on the same visit once the part is in. Find grill repair techs near you or search by ZIP code. Hybrid grills that burn charcoal and wood build up ash fast, so a professional deep cleaning once or twice a year pays for itself.
